North Yorkshire Youth Development Team have been keeping up to date with the latest training from the Alcohol Education Trust. The Alcohol Education Trust is a charity which works across the UK to keep young people safe around alcohol. They are a leading early intervention charity that supports young people aged 11 – 18 in making more informed life choices through the schools and youth organisations they support, free of charge, with award-winning resources and training.

The fantastic resource packs and downloadable activities were kindly provided for our Youth Mentors, Change Direction Mentors and Youth Development Workers to use both one to one and in group settings, with the young people we support across North Yorkshire.

Talking to young people about alcohol can be tricky but it is essential that young people learn the facts. The Alcohol Education Trust resources offer session plans, worksheets and various games and interactive activities that can be used to deliver information to young people in a fun and engaging way, whilst educating them in a way  which they can relate to.

Key Topics are covered such as staying safer, the law, the physical and social effects, as well as fun ways of learning about units and guidelines.

We would like to say a huge thank you to the Alcohol Education Trust for the training and resources that will be put to good use.
