North Yorkshire Youth’s (NYY) annual Calendar Competition is now in its fifth year and has showcased stunning photographs of York & North Yorkshire, taken by young people over this time. The images have featured stunning scenery from across the region, displaying local beauty in many forms. The photographs pictured, are a small sample of these; from Captain Cooks monument on the coast, to views from Sutton Bank, Knaresborough viaduct and on to Bentham train station.
The competition this year has been more popular than ever, with over 100 entrants, submitting more than 500 photographs collectively. The entries not only highlight how beautiful the region is but also demonstrate the exceptional talent amongst NYY’s young photographers.
Due to the high level of quality of photographs the competition receives, NYY have thought about other uses for these so that they can be enjoyed more widely. Images have been transformed into beautiful greetings cards for staff, volunteers, and NYY supporters. This has been another lovely way to further celebrate young people’s creativity and skilled work. We are excited to see what next year’s competition brings!
