Responsibilities: Recruiting, Training and Supporting Independent Visitors in North Yorkshire. Independent Visitors are volunteers who befriend young people who are looked after and develop a positive supportive relationship for the long term. They are there just for the young person and are independent from other agencies and professionals supporting them through the care system.
Favourite part of your job: Working with positive and interesting people who are prepared to give up their time for free to support a young person. Seeing the relationships with young people develop and how much both the Independent Visitor and young person get out of it.
Hobbies/Interest: Cycling, swimming, art, reading and I do just love being at home and watching television when I get the chance.
